The Descendants
We asked. They answered. Our SEVEN favorite kids chimed in on what they are wishing for this holiday season.
We are a little biased, but we think this is an all-star guest list! With four in different High Schools and three in college, we cover a lot of ground. Some are west coast, and some are east coast, so the temperatures and styles vary. They are surfers, lacrosse players, squash players, basketball players, photographers, musicians, artists, writers, singers, aspiring chefs, and so much more. They go from flip flops to dressing up with ease. They keep us HOPPING, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Duds:

The Cali kids can stay warm in light layers, while our East Coasters need serious warmth head to toe in the coming months. Classic seems to be our girls’ vibe with these pretty knot earrings, sweaters, and coats. Reformation, Mango, Staud, and Gap Studio (thank you, Zac Posen) are all crushing it with amazing style for the price. The boys are preparing for everything from algebra class to the golf course in their henleys, quarter zips, sweaters, plaids, and denim.
The Kicks:

From sand to snow and everything in between. First of all: boots, boots, and more boots. The most comfortable Mary Janes for sunny days. Sneakers sturdy enough to run in or good for a quick walk to class. Somehow, slippers are actual shoes now- maybe the winter version of a classic boat shoe. The flip-flop is essential- kids never get cold.
The Hobbies:

Winter sports fans will love this foot massager and Theragun. Photography seems to be all the rage among our bunch: iPhones are for “snap”, but the real action is in Powershot or shots that look like film. All hobbies need good music, so take your pick between this or this speaker. For the real music enthusiasts, help them become a DJ!
The Stockings:

The goal here is cool, but practical- no junk! Phone grippys (if you don’t know…it’s a hands-free, durable phone mount). Loads of fun phone cases for all personalities, styles, and seasons. Also, water bottles, good toothpaste, gloves, socks, their favorite sports team, hair accessories, jewels, belts, coffee mugs, headphones, perfume, and maybe an adorable snack or two!
The Glow Up:

“Sephora kids”, but make it about being healthy and happy- face wash, nail polish, seasonal mood light (for those dark, gloomy days on the east coast), and the coveted red light mask to help fight mild to moderate acne. Don’t forget their teeth! This teeth whitening booster and an electric toothbrush that truly feels like every cleaning is straight from the dentist chair - in a good way ;). Also, to get them up and running in the morning with peace and natural light, this alarm clock is magic.
The Adulting Fashionista:

For the Fashionista who loves a lewk. Alexa Chung has a great collab with Madewell and this slip dress, denim skirt, and peacoat will not disappoint. These boots will take them from classes to college parties in style and in any type of weather. Also, this leather jacket is a perfect mix of cool vibes with a bubble sleeve twist. Another collab that’s almost sold out…Barbour x Levi’s has some cool t-shirts and hoodies. Dôen is always a win with their beautiful cardigans and another nod to Zac Posen’s GapStudio collection, where this dress would also be a total score. For the 20-something about to move into their first apartment, these salad servers and cordless table lamp will give them elevated vibes, while these rubber gloves and crumb catcher will surely make them feel like they are finally adulting and cleaning up in style.
Phew! That was a lot (thanks for reading to the bottom!) This list is long and goes on and on for these teens. So we’ve compiled over 130 of their ideas, and you can shop them all HERE.
