Summer Finds
A note from my U&M summer office on Nantucket. Here is a list of things I have been using and what I’m loving right now.
The Best Hat. It doesn’t flop in the wind and provides a ton of sun coverage. You can customize your own hat at the Veronica Beard store on Nantucket located at 11 S Water Street or call (508) 556-9936.
ICE Bag. The perfect tote with that iconic ice bin logo we use all summer long to cool our drinks and our coolers.
The Murf Bike - We decided to get an electric bike to easily navigate the island and escape traffic jams. It’s a two seater and cruises up to 20 mph. Assembly required (mostly easy.) We all need a little help from our friends. Thanks Bill ; )
All assembled and on our first ride….
Away x La Ligne I found this collaboration perfectly timed for my travels. I was in need of a new carry on roller bag and couldn’t resist getting one when I saw the stripe. Their Marina sweater with a pop of orange stripe is also the perfect layer for summer travel.
The Boxy Button Down. I just got this one delivered to my doorstep and it’s a win for the beach straight to dinner. They come in lots of styles at Coniglio Palm Beach.
Needlepoint Nook
My needlepoint hobby has officially begun! I got all outfitted for my first project at Erica Wilson. She has everything one needs from amateur to expert.
Didn’t think I’d like it, but now I can’t stop using it. YSE Beauty Skin Glow is not too thick or greasy and gives the perfect glow in addition to SPF 30 coverage. I’ve tried a lot of these and this is a definitely a winner.
This place is delicious. A must go - now. They serve a lobster roll two ways - warm or chilled. I went for warm and every bite was filled with buttery shallots and perfect lobster pieces. I am no food critic but it was truly the best lobster roll I’ve ever had.
Summer Stripe Slipper - Summer feet need these for cool mornings. I found these at Mate Gallery in Montecito and they are the cutest.
A Love Story: The Cottage Cheese Wrap. TikTok got me again - this is good, trust me!

Summertime Refreshments
My very creative and talented niece Abby Moss is one to watch. She comes up with easy delicious recipes as well as documents her travels and finding that perfect burger, cocktail or off beat restaurant in Austin, TX. Follow her food account and TikTok for all the yums. Here is her recipe for the summer drink I can’t wait to try…
SILKY LEMONADE 🍋
What you’ll need:
2 whole lemons
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3-4 tbsp agave (depending on desired sweetness)
4 cups of water
Steps!
Chop lemons into 1/2 to 1 inch slices, depending on your blenders strength
Add sliced lemons, olive oil, agave, and water into a blender
Blend until smooth, or until no large chunks remain
Using a cheesecloth, strain the mixture to ensure there are no large pieces of seed or peel
Pour over ice for a refreshing, elevated lemonade or add vodka, gin or rosé with a little seltzer for the perfect summer cocktail!
Notes:
*Olive oil can be optional if you choose to leave it out, but it truly elevates it to give it the silky, rich texture that makes this drink!
Binge Worthy - can’t help it. The whole family has been obsessed with America’s Sweethearts and who wins the boots and poms. Thunderstruck is on repeat ;)
Vanessa Fox Short Ruffle Sarong Skirt
The most effortless way to pull off beach chic. Throw on a white tank top and espadrilles and your outfit is done.
Nantucket Looms is the one stop shop for gifts for the home. If you’re in need of a hostess gift this is your place. They hand weave all their blankets (cotton, alpaca, mohair and cashmere) in their upstairs studio and the color options are endless.
Not just any candle.
Le Feu De L’eau is my new summer scent. Its constructed entirely of wax and smells absolutely delightful. Find them online at Bodega or at the store itself on Nantucket.
80’s Suntan Nostalgia.
Vacation sunscreen that takes you back but this time with SPF 30 ; )
That’s all for now!
