SNOMG!
Your East Coast kids are freezing their little tails off! They need layers, hot chocolate, or WHISKEY! This winter is no joke!
We are Californians (we won’t brag on our current weather), but five of our seven kids are studying on the East coast. After a recent (freezing) visit, we decided they need warmer EVERYTHING! They stand at OUTDOOR parties, walk to classes all day everyday, stand in line to get into bars, etc. We think it should be illegal to go to school when it is this cold, but not everyone agrees. While we are dreaming of spring, they still have a bit of winter ahead. They braved one storm. Make sure they are ready for the next one!
LAYERS:
For everything between the birthday suit and the big coat.
Speaking of layers, have you seen this adorable girl post her dad Yoki’s style? It is currently one of the best things on Instagram. Start the layering with long underwear. Uniqlo has perfected it with their Heattech line. This super light cashmere Intimissimi top is a “going out” staple. It is somehow warm and also see through (don’t totally understand, but I’ll trust the girls). There is no such thing as too many sweaters. Of course, multiple shackets. This adorable vest is perfect over a sweater and under a coat. And finally, his and hers Henleys for the cool, casual type.
SHOES:
Boots, tough sneakers, and a few fashion forward options.
The gorgeous snowflakes are possibly turning to muddy slush. These Loeffler Randall boots are up to the task as are the unbelievably comfortable moon boots. If it ain’t broke…the classic “Bean Boot” or Blundstone never fails in almost any condition (if they are willing to match their dads). These “wicked good” slippers will keep them cozy indoors and maybe a quick errand outdoors. For the hard core outdoorsmen, these sneakers can handle the elements. This classic rain boot will last forever and will come in handy for the spring showers ahead.
BIG COATS:
Several styles made for the harshest cold.
There is a rumor (FT style) that puffers are on the way out, but we don’t believe it yet. Guys love this classic or this lighter weight Stio. This Uniqlo is on sale and is SO warm. This motorcycle jacket is very cool for the cold. We want to live in this Lululemon Wunder Puff or this long faux-fur.
ACCESSORIES:
Maybe the most important part- warm hands, warm feet, warm head.
Basically- channel Jackie (always). For the head: warm furry ear muffs, a classic beanie, or a chic balaclava. For the feet: cozy socks and slippers. For the hands: mittens or gloves. Scarves and bandanas are always the final touch.
